Today, I opened a fortune cookie that said "An admirer is too shy to greet you." I can only guess that this admirer has been following me on facebook and hasn't friended me, yet. So I'm screaming to the world, show yourself!
What can I say? If you never try, you never will succeed.
All this based on a fortune cookie, jeez.
On another news, someone told me that I should teach a fiction writing class. Using the very same phrase, "If you never try, you'll never succeed", I can apply that to my fears of not succeeding in teaching a writing class. I do think about writing a lot.... and it's for more interesting to me than the actual writing itself. I love to dive into theory, and I love spending hours just thinking about writing methods... so there's some truth to the recommendation by my friend to start small and teach a small class on writing.
There are several fears and "why should I try, am I even qualified?" thoughts:
1. I never graduated from college
2. If I teach a class on writing, what will I teach? My entire writing consolidation is only a few pages long.
3. I don't have any books published, neither through the traditional method nor the self publish route.
4. My own writing... I have fears about its very quality.
There are some pros and "I should try, because I am qualified" thoughts:
1. I think about writing methods a lot. It's very interesting to me.
2. I've studied fiction writing, and I spent a lot of time debating the pros and cons of various methods
3. It'd be nice to make some money
